Happy Galentine's Day to all the wonderful, beautiful, strong women in the world.
This is a day to celebrate your girlfriends--- not a romantic relationship. Some of you are probably scratching your head wondering, 'huh? What are you talking about?' Well my friends, let me break it down for you.
According to the Urban Dictionary, Galentine's Day is celebrated on February 13, the day before Valentine's Day. It's a day to celebrate the love you have for your lady friends. It's a day dedicated to giving your closest friends love, attention, and appreciation.
If you are familiar with the series Parks and Recreation which aired from 2009-2015, you may have seen the episode called Galentine's Day. In this episode, one of the main characters, Leslie Knope, gets a group of her closest gal pals---female friends--- together for a brunch---a fusion of breakfast and lunch eaten between the hours of 10am-2pm--- of waffles and love.
The fun thing about this non-traditional holiday is that it can be celebrated in whatever way you want and ANY and EVERYONE can celebrate Galentine's Day. That's right men! This holiday is for you too!
Galentine's Day is a celebration of friendship and the people who support you no matter what. All in all, it's a day dedicated to appreciating the most important people in your life and showing them how much you care about them.
